Ztick Privacy Policy

Effective August 14, 2026

The short version: Ztick stores your clipboard history only on your Mac. We collect nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party services. Your data never reaches us — we couldn't read it if we wanted to.

What Ztick does

Ztick is a clipboard manager for macOS. When you copy something — text, a link, an image, a file reference, or a color — Ztick saves it to a history database stored locally on your Mac, so you can find and paste it again later.

What we collect

Nothing. Ztick has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting to us, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. We do not collect, receive, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or any of your clipboard content. Ztick's developer has no server that your data could be sent to.

Where your clipboard history lives

Your entire clipboard history is stored in a local database inside Ztick's sandboxed app container on your Mac. It is protected by the same macOS security that protects your other files (including FileVault, if you use it). Deleting an item in Ztick deletes it from that database; deleting the app removes the container and everything in it.

Built-in privacy protections

Network access

Ztick makes exactly one kind of network request: if you copy a web link and the optional "Generate link previews" feature is enabled, Ztick fetches that page once to retrieve its title and preview image, then stores them locally. This request goes directly from your Mac to the website in question — not through any server of ours — and you can turn the feature off in Settings → Capture. Ztick performs no other network activity.

Permissions Ztick may ask for

On-device intelligence

Features like recognizing text inside copied screenshots (so they're searchable) run entirely on your Mac using Apple's built-in frameworks. No image, text, or any other content is sent anywhere for processing.

Children's privacy

Ztick collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future feature works differently — the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. The commitment that your clipboard content stays on your Mac is the foundation of the app and will not change.
